Newark PD Seek Man Accused Of Assaulting Elderly Resident, Stealing Gold Chain

A Newark man is wanted by police for assaulting an elderly resident on the street and stealing his gold chain, authorities said.

Omar Pearson, 39, robbed the man of his chain around 1 p.m. at  Nichols and Pulaski streets on Aug. 10,  Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose said.

Pearson is around 5 feet and 10 inches tall and weighs between 140 and 150 pounds. He has brown eyes, black hair, a dark complexion, and is known to frequent the Bradley Court public housing complex area. 

He has been seen hanging around 79 N. Munn Ave. on several occasions, police said.
